I've been staring up at the stars, watching the moon waltz from afar
Climb out to my roof at dusk and watch the sun turn the sky to rust
Shivering skin in the morning dew, waiting for the world to bloom
Smoke lead away by the breeze, chasing spirits through the streets
So I'll sit here, on mount hope forever, watch the constellations fall and wait for something to happen. I'll be content with the mourning dove's call

Days drift away into nothing, now with the clouds, I'm losing time
I've been trying to find the place where you hid
Take me back to when my knees were skinned
Now these walls cast their shadows down
Without you, the rain is the only sound
Tell me that I am wrong, you're the reason that the nights are so long and if you only could have stayed, maybe I won't hate this place
It's so cold now I can't feel my feet
Since you left it's like you took all the leaves
Is it smoke or is it just my breath
How can I expect to know what's coming next

My pants just don't fit me they're too big and they're too small. I don't know why I said that you don't care at all but I like the way you listen when nothing makes sense to me, when I'm thinking 'bout the future and who I'm supposed to be.
Can I spend the night? I'm too drunk to drive, I can just sleep on the couch or figure something out.
You ask me to go out and while that's pretty tempting I'd rather just get stoned and watch march of the penguins. Anyways the last time we went out to the bar I got piss drunk off three beers and threw up on the yard
Can I spend the night? I'm too drunk to drive, I can just sleep on the couch or figure something out. I just don't know why I'm the one that caught your eye, I always thought that you wanted more, like a guy who can hold his liquor

We can sit and watch the hours pass, just ignore that this could be. The last time where we can be as we, split again by the falling leaves.
Keep me here, keep this on, before too late. And we'll be gone
Walk in the woods, just us two, finding our way back to the hollow. Nights spent staring up from below, watching the stars cast their afterglow.

I guess I really just don't want to grow up and decide, where I'm gonna go. I wish I could just lie in the sun and waste the day away not talking to anyone.
Oh, those nights where we would watch scream and listen to the neighbours fight and hope that when tomorrow comes it'll be a different sight.
I'm not sure if I want change or if I'm scared of things staying the same. If they do well that'd be alright, I'll be fine as long as I've got you guys.
Oh, those nights where we would watch scream and listen to the neighbours fight and stay out in the back dancing under the moon
