I'm sure there's no brighter sight Than a glimpse of your eyes in the full moon's light In forgotten fields With no monoliths of steel to extort our ideals I wanna drive right down the coast Escape the city and the bitter cold I wanna lose track of the miles And fantasize about the endless isles Oh I'd love to see an accent of green around you Around you Yah it'd be alright to have more than satellites to wish on To wish on 'Cause honestly I just don't care about where we end up Just as long as there's some sun swept air it'd Be more than enough I wanna drive right down the coast Escape the city and the bitter cold I wanna lose track of the miles And fantasize about the endless isles

Be Okay 04:10
Is it all a fantasy? Have I led her down a road I can't see? Is there enough water in between To stop the ships they sent for me? Sipping coffee on my back porch most every day Just waiting for the clouds to fade away She turns to me as if to say it all will be okay But my words never seem to take that shape It will all be okay It will all be okay Getting so much harder to get right back up again Under the overwhelming weight of everything But maybe by this summer I will finally get to wonder Why I thought the rain would never end It will all be okay It will all be okay

Cicadas 04:33
If we stare hard enough I'm sure that we could shut off The street lights like I did when I was Five and days were flying by Now I'm with you and I still share the same view 'Cause the night Never quite Lived up to the days I knew Where has it gone? The cicada's song Oh it's all that I want To hear it in the dawn Right down, just beyond the cedar trees There's a spot you've gotta see It had a lock that rusted off and nobody ever knew except for us From up here you can see the city clear as the traffic carries on Meant everything back in 2017 to know that twilight always comes Where has it gone? The cicada's song Oh it's all that I want To hear it in the dawn Dirty feet and ginkgo trees Days spent in the yard Never really seemed complete Without the sound I'm looking for Am I too old to hear it now? Must I try to find another song? (Where has it gone the cicada's song)

Banks 03:45
From the banks of the Grand I've waited For warmth to come again And cease this senseless dance whose rhythm I can Never understand To drift away under sun speckled rain This would be the place to float back home again A gentle breeze pushes past leaves with hints of Earth and banged up knees Of days spent with no intent of returning To sleep back in our beds If there were a way to get back to those days This would be the place to float back home again
5.
Louie 03:04
Louie I really need you to come through for me If it's not too early To sit down with some grounds and remind ourselves it's Just this town And I hate what it's done to your friends and where you're from Oh I hope you know that when there's snow you're the Only one I'm counting on Oh Louie Oh Louie Louie I really need you to see right through me It'd be a relief to Finally understand just what's been going On inside my head Just don't tell your mom 'cause she can't know something's wrong Oh I'd hate to be the cause of worry and it feels like I've been for far too long Oh Louie Oh Louie Oh Louie Oh Louie Oh Louie Oh Louie

Zack's House 02:40
Let me go home There's no way that open flame is even close to being safe Why Did I let myself hide behind the hash of Ethan's pipe? And leave the light of god to go and stumble through the night Am I alright? My feet are playing chess with themselves On the checkered floor of your kitchen And as I stop to look around I notice someone here is missing Lost outside We'll I'm sure I counted five as we were headed up the drive Your dad sells something I can't pronounce Am I too down? Usually I'm not that scared there's something different about this air Oh Usually I just don't mind the thought of wasting all my time
7.
Slow Down 01:17
Why can't Time just slow down? And meet me On equal ground We'd lie back And drink in the sun Oh why can't I feel like I'm young I just need some relief A decent good night's sleep The world is spinning too fast for me to comprehend And I just could use a friend Yeah I just could use a friend
8.
Blindside 02:56
ou breathe through your nose as we decompose Under a tree What if we went away? Your 'woo' it echoes across the meadow's Sunsetting plea to sleep quietly Go away You watch through your eyes as life passes you by Younger than spry What if my pride went away? You pause as you try to help one with their lie But you're done letting fly Your blindside is gone In a cave At the bottom of the ocean Where it's hoping that you are okay 'Cause it wants to remind you Keep your head up boy or You'll get punched in the mouth In the mouth In the mouth In the mouth

Joey's Song 01:24
10.
Lying back in the grass Watching clouds as they roll on past I'll wait here for you To lie down with me just like we used to On summer afternoons (I don't) We'd find any excuse to not go home (Want to go back home) I'd chase you through the fields (If you're) Past chain link fence we peel as our door (Not waiting at my door) But you're not there anymore Noone waiting out on my porch What else would I come home for? I'm sure I'll see you again Somewhere around the bend It's been too long for our song to end And I can still hear it around the bend
11.
Snack Bar 03:57
If you're heading out then I think I'll follow suit 'Cause there's nobody here that can fill my time like you You offer me some of the mickey you've stashed in your coat But I'm already stumbling on words that got caught in my throat I'm sure you've forgotten but we've been here before Making up names for the stations all along Bloor We hide under lights of convenience store signs If you want to smoke then I'm sure I can spot you a five I could show you All of the songs that sound like you do And you'd fall for me Just because the buds we share sound so sweet But you don't care for my kind of song No You don't care for my kind of song No You don't care for my kind of song

about

Recorded and written by us in our apartments throughout 2023. This is the most Shanley project to date. Nostalgia, summer days, simple pleasures, it's all here in one 34-minute long package.

We'd like to thank our partners for listening to the songs almost as much as we have and still finding the energy to dance to them. Thank you to our roommates new and old for putting up with the countless practices and arguments over composition.

This album is dedicated to Joey and Oscar.
